CVS CaremarkTM is the pharmacy benefit manager for the Value Choice, Network Choice and Out-of-Area Plans.
ID Card
If you are enrolled in the Value Choice, Network Choice or Out-Of-Area plan, you'll receive a CVS Caremark ID card. Present your ID card when you have a short-term prescription of 30 days or less filled at a local retail pharmacy.back to top
CVS CaremarkTM's Maintenance Choice® - required for maintenance prescriptions
If you enrolled in the Value Choice, Network Choice or Out-Of-Area Plan, you are required to fill a 90-day supply of your maintenance medications with Maintenance Choice®. You can get a 90-day supply at any CVS/pharmacy for the same cost. By going to the pharmacy, you will get your prescription drugs the same day and be able to talk face-to-face with a pharmacist. You must use a CVS/pharmacy location for this program. Not applicable to other network pharmacies.back to top
Mail-Order Program - optional for any prescriptions
If you take long-term medications, take advantage of your plan's mail-order prescription program. You can get up to a three-month (90-day) supply of your prescription and save money. The prescriptions are mailed directly to your home with the postage paid. back to top
Lifestyle medications
Lifestyle medications are available under the Value Choice, Consumer Choice PPO, Network Choice and Out-of-Area Plans. Lifestyle medications are prescriptions that are not medically necessary but are FDA approved to treat conditions such as hair loss and wrinkle reduction. While you pay 100 percent of the cost for these medications, they are provided at a group discount. Allergy medications like Claritin and Allegra have been added to this category because they now considered as over the counter drugs. back to top
Specialty Medications
Due to the cost of specialty medications, your cost for brand-name specialty drugs is higher. The maximum out-of-pocket for any covered individual for specialty medications will be $2,000 each year.

Specialty medications treat chronic (long-term), life-threatening or rare conditions such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis or hemophilia. Specialty medications may: - Be given by injection or taken by mouth
- Cost more than traditional medications - greater than $500 for a 30-day supply
- Have special storage and handling requirements
- Need to be taken on a very strict schedule
