Disability Coverage
If you're ill or injured and can't work, you'll still need income to meet your everyday living expenses. That's why Compass Group provides disability income protection options.
Hourly full-time associates
Short Term Disability (STD). You have three options that pay a weekly benefit of $150, $200 or $250. The cost of STD is based on your age and the coverage level you choose, and is for "off the job," non-work-related disabilities. Workers' Compensation covers "on the job" disabilities.

You are eligible to receive STD benefits for pregnancy. The plan covers pre-existing conditions as long as you are actively at work on the effective date of coverage.
Disability coverage is not available to dependents.
Note: Compass Group does not offer the STD option to those associates who work in California, Hawaii, New Jersey, Rhode Island or Puerto Rico, as those states/territories provide mandated disability benefits under state law.
Long Term Disability (LTD). You have three options that pay a monthly benefit of $500, $700 or $1,000. The amount you elect cannot exceed 60% of your income. You can apply for LTD benefits after you have been disabled for 180 days. LTD coverage is offered to associates in all states.
Salaried full-time associates
Compass Group offers both Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage. Disability coverage is not available to dependents. back to top
Short Term Disability (STD). You are automatically covered under the STD plan after you have completed six months of service. You will receive 75 percent (for the first 13 weeks) or 50 percent (for the second 13 weeks) of the base salary you were receiving on the date you became disabled.
Long Term Disability (LTD). You have two enrollment options for LTD benefits.
Basic LTD coverage provided by Compass Group protects 50 percent of your pay. You also may elect supplemental LTD coverage that protects an additional 10 percent of your Annual Benefit Base Salary. back to top
