Performance Appraisal

Meeting both our goals and yours is important. At Compass Group, we use the performance appraisal to identify your strengths and highlight areas for growth.

Purpose

The performance appraisal process is a tool used by you and your immediate manager to:

  • Assess your performance and the results achieved over a one-year period
  • Provide you with opportunities to enhance your skills
  • Set objectives for the upcoming year

Process

To maximize the value of a performance appraisal, it takes preparation on the part of you and your manager. There are two steps to the process:

Step 1: Assessing Performance
Associates. You will need to prepare a self-appraisal that evaluates how well you met each goal and the steps you took to do so. Think about the use of your skills and abilities, and our values.

Then consider your career goals and list three activities that will build the skills needed.

Managers. Your manager will review your self-appraisal and then write an assessment of you.

Step 2. Meeting and Sign-off
Your manager will schedule a one-on-one meeting with you that will last between one and one and a half hours.

The meeting offers the opportunity to have an open, honest and constructive discussion about your appraisal and the ratings that were given. Based on your development needs and career aspirations, you and your manager will arrive at agreed-upon goals for the coming year.

Once the meeting is complete you will be asked to sign off on the performance appraisal. back to top
