Eligibility
Salaried Full-time Associates
Your Compass Group benefits are a significant part of your total compensation. We encourage our associates to understand our benefits package and to participate fully in the program.
Benefits program
As a salaried associate, you are eligible to participate in the benefits program if you are:
- Listed as a full-time exempt or non-exempt salaried associate in the payroll system
- Normally scheduled to work at least 30 hours each week
- Not covered by the service contract act
You are eligible for all benefits, with the exception of Short Term Disability (STD) coverage, on the first day of the month following one month of service at Compass Group.
STD plan
You automatically are covered under the STD plan after you have completed six months of service.
Benefit credits
To help pay for a portion of your benefits coverage, Compass Group provides you with benefit credits in each paycheck. The amount of your benefit credits is available on your personalized enrollment worksheet or on your paystub.
Your benefit credits consist of the following:
- Salary Credit. You receive an annual credit equal to 1 percent of your Annual Benefit Base Salary because the costs of certain benefits - such as Supplemental Life and Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance - are based on your salary. The maximum credit is $1,000 per year.
- Service Credit. To recognize and reward company service, you receive an annual credit of $40 for each full year of service (determined as of January 1). The maximum service credit is $600 per year.
- LTD Credit. You receive a credit equal to the cost of basic LTD insurance, which provides a disability benefit equal to 50 percent of your salary should you become totally disabled.

Important.Your benefit credits can be spent only on benefits and cannot be used as additional take-home pay or for your Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), so be sure you make the best use of them.
