Meet Laura: Associate Spotlight Vol. IX
Welcome to Associate Spotlights, a blog series from Compass Group’s Talent Management team, showcasing various associates across our family of companies.
Laura is a Senior Communications Manager with Business Excellence, a group of diverse professionals assembled to drive corporate strategy, innovation and excellence in disciplines across Compass Group including culinary, nutrition & wellness, marketing, communications, retail, design & planning, consumer engagement, and operations.
Laura joined Compass Group about 3 years ago as a Marketing Director for Eurest. In that role, she was able to marry her storytelling ability and marketing background with her love of food. In her current role, she helps to heighten the visibility of Compass Group corporate initiatives and shares best practices across all sectors.

Describe your proudest moment at Compass so far.
I could not be more proud than I was during the Stop Food Waste Day initiative this past year in April. The experience impacted me both personally and professionally. It was epic to see stories and photos from around the world, witnessing every sector across Compass Group come together with a shared vision to embrace food waste reduction. We were all working together, truly making a difference and demonstrating the power of Compass Group! I can’t wait for us to align once again for the next Stop Food Waste Day this April.
What is the best career advice that you have ever received?
Raise your hand and get involved at every opportunity. It will allow you to get exposure to all of Compass Group, meet new colleagues and build valuable relationships.
Also, experience the café from the point of view of your customer at least once a month. It allows you to understand what they see, want, and need.
What do you most enjoy about your job?
Being challenged, having a sense of purpose, experiencing new things and receiving opportunities to grow. I get all of these in spades in my current role!
What is your favorite dish to make at home?
All things soup. I like to make soup and eat soup. And, you can’t mess up soup!
What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Outgoing. Adventurous. Thoughtful.
