To communicate our commitment and approach to diversity & inclusion, we’ve developed a strategy and visual guide called the House of Inclusion. The House has three essential structures:

  • FOUNDATION – Awareness and knowledge through education and training
  • PILLARS – Focus on engagement and full participation with Associate Resource Groups
  • ROOF – Measurement and metrics

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION TRAINING

We never stop learning.

We encourage our associates to learn and grow and invest heavily in training each year. Whether for a new associate or a senior level manager, we offer learning and development opportunities to help out people succeed in their current position or advance to the next one.

Our learning & development and talent management teams are always available to help associates manage their careers and develop strategies to set and reach individual goals.

  • Appreciating Differences™, an online training course that shows how diversity & inclusion impacts business success and helps develop skills that keep associates engaged.
  • Managing Inclusion™, a four-hour instructor-led course that brings inclusion to life in the workplace and helps improve management and communication styles.
  • Inclusive Recruitment, a reality-based training program specifically designed to give recruiters and hiring managers inclusive strategies and tactics to build diverse pipelines.

In 2015, 245,500 training courses were completed via a traditional, online or e-learning class.

Five Jewel Award

One important component of our Be-A-Star program is the Five Jewel Award for Best Practices in Diversity and Inclusion. Outstanding teams and units are recognized as sector leaders who achieve better business results through their passion for diversity and inclusion.

Led by associates, associate resource groups are powerful tools that support the recruitment, development and retention of diverse, talented individuals. Members expand their professional skills, sharpen their business acumen and practice leadership abilities. They connect with others from across the organization and gain greater visibility. And ARGs provide associates with the opportunity to learn about our other business sectors.

In 2013, Compass Group USA launched the Veterans Associate Resource Group (VARG). This dedicated unit of associates shares the goal of promoting veteran recruitment, providing growth opportunities, honoring military service and elevating our success through the use of their unique skill sets and cultural insights. We are proud to provide meaningful employment opportunities that empower these brave men and women to thrive and advance in this next phase of their careers.
