How long have you been with Compass Group?

I will be coming up on 19 years this June!

Did you always want to go into Law?

Not until college…while earning a business degree at the University of North Carolina, I really enjoyed my business law class which inspired me to work the next summer in the mail room of a large law firm. I pursued a law degree because of the multiple career paths available to attorneys – even foodservice.

How has your career evolved since you first started with Compass?

With great support from company leadership, I have consistently been provided with opportunities to tackle new challenges. Through increased responsibility and experience, I gained valuable insight into our business – allowing me to add value by providing commercially relevant and practical advice.

Is Corporate Counsel a career path that you would recommend to others? What advice would you give them?

Yes, being corporate counsel is an interesting and challenging career path. If the opportunity to serve as corporate counsel arises, strive to learn as much as you can about the business and become a valuable business partner to your internal clients.

What do you like best about Compass Group?

My favorite part of working at Compass Group is partnering with our amazing people. Compass associates are entrepreneurial, hard-working, collaborative and possess an inspirational can-do attitude.

What is your favorite pastime outside of the office?

I enjoy supporting or coaching my kids in sports or school events. I also enjoy travel experiences with my family. My newest hobby is finding ways to maintain a healthier and more active lifestyle.
